Tugosral / Тугосрал returns to The Dark Thursday with quite frankly a really fucking wacky release, 14 нояб., 15.34
This thing is strange. In the beginning we can hear odd vocalizations through some filters of sorts. But to add to that, we can hear mouse / keyboard clicks and breaths in the background, this adds a layer of inside perspective to the creation of the release. It pulls back the curtain in a fun way.
It also helps me see the live jam that is going on, a jam that pulls in sound effects and musique concrete pieces. Nearly all the while this jamming is happening, there is a pretty consistent rhythm stabilizing the madness, until of course it switches up to dizzy things further.
It takes a noisey turn for a section too, where everything is enveloped into filthy, grinding noise, until it turns into a loose rhythm again.
It wraps up with a small monologue in a language I don't understand and the sound of the mic being picked up, to tie a lo-fi bow on this insane feeling 36 and a half minutes.
A fearless cult figure from New England's underground scene, Sawyer's no-fi experiments with everyday objects and body sounds are greatly rewarding to those who have the patience and curiosity to give them a chance. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jan 20, 2017
