Here we have Flip Phone Acid from Erica Hartmann Acid Crew.

As the title says, this release was recorded with a flip phone. Specifically, it's acid techno recorded with a flip phone. This distant fever dream is an interesting experiment in using low fidelity recording devices to capture music I generally know to sound pretty pristine (techno is not my forte).

The first track keeps a simple motif the majority of the time, one that eventually morphs into another, bassier melody. Afterwards an idea with almost a vocaloid quality presents itself, rounding off the track.

The second track is much of the same but with more of a focus on various percussive sounds. More conventional and immediate synths make an appearance as the track progresses, bringing it to a head.

Flip Phone Acid is simple in its nature, but a nice change (for me and the label) and a rather refreshing experiment. Give it a go if it sounds appealing.
