ICOS GRAS kicks off with glitchy loops right off the bat. Sounds like sped up music of some kind, considering the vocal samples over quick melodies.
It does slow up somewhat as it goes, mopey, down-pitched vocals over horns and drums, maybe even a marching band quality to it. It continues to stop and start, sometimes longer sections of the sampled material being revealed before returning to the start of the loop.
There is really nice use of silence every so often, the moments of pause really take attention when this loop continues.
Then by somewhat of a surprise, the gain goes right up in a semi-explosive move, somewhat of a wallop as one has accustomed to the pretty consistent volume at this point.
All and all a pretty interesting plunderphonics, loop-y thing. Well worth checking out.
