about

This is Zenbrecher from Surrogate Sigma.

"Literature on Business" starts us off with some rhythms made from very midi-ish sounds. It wears this badge proudly, continuing this way throughout. It does get a touch glitchy with a couple uneven spots, then with more conventional glitches. Throughout this also is a couple of synth chords rung out, they are used very sparingly of course.

"Losing Oneself in the Rhizome" is next. It comes in suddenly, bass ringing out continuously in 4/4. The upper registers ring out complex ditties, switching up and adding some tricks to this trip. The bassy kick switches over to a way lower sustain, more punchy sound around the end to play with the rhythm a bit before closing off.

"Cat Mind" the shortest piece, rounds off the release. Maybe the hardest track to follow of the three, the rhythm is somewhat understandable but then a snare hit throws you off a little, until you get the hang of it, then it goes. After that is what sounds like a triangle hit that has been dragged out and morphs into a voice synth of sorts. The track then cuts off rather suddenly, embodying the rather unpredictable nature of this release to begin with.
