This is Тугосрал (Tugosral's) debut on The Dark Thursday.
It sure is a weird release to say the least. It kicks off with reverby, delayed vocals and perhaps some kitchen / junk sounds also ran through reverb and delay, it is somewhat musique concrete-ish in that way. The vocals tend to remind me of Mario a bit, and maybe
that was kind of the intention; Tugosral doesn't seem to be taking itself too seriously, the release name translates to 'Shit Noise Fake' so that somewhat supports notion of a lack of seriousness. This does not detract from the release though. Experimental music can be fun and goofy (Smegma comes to mind), it's honestly quite refreshing because quite a lot of experimental music is quite serious (not that that is a bad thing).
The release is predominantly this musique concrete-esque blend of vocals and percussion. It's fascinating, humorous and a bit unnerving at times. Your roommate / mother / dog might look at you sideways if you play it out loud, but that's part of the fun.
A fearless cult figure from New England's underground scene, Sawyer's no-fi experiments with everyday objects and body sounds are greatly rewarding to those who have the patience and curiosity to give them a chance. Bandcamp Album of the Day Jan 20, 2017
